Planting the Seed
The easiest way for me to describe the intenZenden practice is as though our home is a garden.
First comes the seed, then the tending.
What is the seed? The best way to explain the seed in terms of this practice is as Dr. Wayne Dyer so justly described in his book, The Power of Intention. If you haven’t read it, it is a game changer. Mind blown. Life altered. He explained as each seed holds infinite creative possibility, we as humans, hold this same unique expressive possibility. Intenzenden is the term I came up with that deals with the environmental aspect in co-creating our reality. Our environments shape our experience and how we show up.
To me, it only makes sense that our home, being our environment, can either encourage or stunt our growth. Our first step is to take a look at what it is we truly desire. Our second step is to anchor this vision for ourselves and life experience in our space by tending to it, area by area, as a gardener nourishes his or her garden. Think about it- our home is where and how we spend our time. It’s where we meet our basic needs. Our goal as gardeners of our home and soul – to make the most of our space so that we can come home to our soul. And the only person who can create that, is us.
I’ve broken down these needs into categories and each category will relate to a various area in our home as to where it takes place (i.e. rest happens in the bedroom, nourishment happens in the kitchen etc.) They categories are: love, connection, expression, play, self-care, nourishment, rest and spirituality. Everything we do can relate to one of these needs. When we visualize how we’d like to experience each need in our day-to-day lives, we can create a supportive spaces so that our vision can come into life. We breathe life into our dreams.
Each area of our life needs to be nourished if we are to feel are best. When we feel our best, we show up at our fullest. So my plan for #my365 is to first create the vision of how I would like my life to flow in each of these areas if I could design it. I have designed a process for this that I will share as I go along.
STEP TWO – ACTION
Step two will be assessing the current situation and environment in my home. Once I am aware of my desired experience (the seed) I will work on each area of my life one day a week, either by taking an action in that area or by physically tending to the area (watering the garden). I don’t know what will happen, but I DO know that when we are clear on what we want and take inspired action in that direction, our lives will shift. We are moving energy. We are becoming clear. We move towards equilibrium.
This idea will become easy to understand as we go on. We want to put positive energy into all of our human needs if we are to show up in our fullest, most sparkly expression. Think, if we tend too much or too little in one area the circle I shared above (what I refer to as our intention wheel) will not move. It will get stuck. It will only move forward if the areas are weighted evenly. We need to apply some massive self-love in all areas of our lives to keep our life moving forward while staying in balance.
Beginning tomorrow, I will go over each area in depth and share with you the worksheets and mindmaps I have created to plant and nourish the seed. As far as the weekdays are concerned it will go like this:
LOVE is our overall intention, our unique sparkling DNA, the creative being that we are in total. It is applied to our entire home and the week in general.
MONDAY – CONNECTION (Living Room, Dining Room)
TUESDAY – EXPRESSION (OFFICE, DEN/LIBRARY, COMMAND CENTER, CRAFT ROOM)
WEDNESDAY – PLAY (MEDIA ROOM, REC ROOM, BASEMENT)
THURSDAY – SELF-CARE (BATHROOM, CLOSETS, EXERCISE AREA, LAUNDRY ROOM)
FRIDAY – NOURISHMENT (KITCHEN, GARDEN)
SATURDAY – REST (BEDROOM)
SUNDAY – SPIRIT (SACRED SPACE, ALTAR, MEDITATION ROOM)
In addition to my daily tending, I will be kicking the year off by taking part in the Whole30 January Challenge, which I completed at the same time last year. It was an incredible way to start the year. This will be my 4th Whole30 and I always feel a ton better after I reset my body this way. Personally, when I feed my body right it has the most significant impact on how I feel and how I show up. I learned this following my first Whole30 two years ago. If you are curious about how your body responds to food, I highly recommend.
The second activity I will take part in is the To Be Soul, Do Soul private book club by Hiro Boga. Hiro is an inspiring guide and mentor for entrepreneurs and this book is an invitation into our creative conscious through daily practice, so I am super excited to see where that leads. I’m not sure what to expect, but her writing is exquisite and I am encouraged that this will be a powerful exercise in awareness.
And that’s it, folks! I also have a day job (I am a real estate agent and home stager, surprise, surprise!) so I think all of this should be enough to start the year off strong. I’ve seen quite a few astronomers sharing how powerful this year is astronomically, so I’d like to kick it off right. The goal is to share as much as I can here on this blog, and hopefully on my youtube channel (need to get going on that). You can also hop onto my Instagram to get daily updates of #my365 in pictures!
Lastly, I want to say a little something about the importance of knowing our why anytime we set out to try something new. Why have I decided to do this and put it out there on the world wide web run amuck with opinions 101 you might ask (or better yet, I might ask?) Well I got real with myself a few days ago to get clear on my why. And what I uncovered was that this idea has been dancing around my awareness FOR NEARLY A DECADE. Yes, a decade. Before I invented my baby product, before I sold my first house, before I had my first child, I had the idea of an intention experiment.
I’ve always said that if we have an idea that manages to stick around and inspire passion and delight, it is in need of materialization. It is calling to us to be brought into material existence. This idea hasn’t left me, and in fact, once I experienced the path of my first experiment nine years ago, I knew I had to share it with others. If there’s one thing that has kept my interest and that I feel compelled to share it’s that we all matter. Our dreams matter. What our hearts speak matters. It’s our divine calling and we need to express it.
And our homes can serve as our incubator, our charging pod, the divine ground for our dreams to come to life. It is not the complete story, but it is certainly part of it. I think I feel comfortable sharing that working in homes and with people is my gift. This is the time to own it and share it.
So when I sat down to solidify my why, I realized that my interest is in finding my tribe. Whether it’s one person (I know I have my daughter) or 10,000, I know the power of connection and collaboration that happens with like-minded people and that we are all better when we work together. We need each other. Every single one of us has a unique energetic blueprint that this world needs right now. I want to encourage, inspire and empower others who see the same possibility.
We may just lead each other home.
In love and light and a seed,
